Alpha Yankee 2 Update – by Ed Smart

After a tough 14 days of trek, Alpha Yankee 2 now resembles a weather-beaten team of bronze explorers, a long way from the group that first set out 2 weeks ago. We have experienced fierce winds whilst making our way past the farms of Cerro Montecristo, we have had some great views of Lake Arenal, we’ve braved the jungle of the Tenorio National Park led by our amazing guide Don Luz , and visited hot springs in El Pilon & Santa Maria which soothed our aching backs and legs. We have also came by stunning waterfalls, which were not only beautiful but also washed away the layers of dirt we have acquired whilst we walk.

The trek has been an incredible experience so far as we have been able to see how scenic Costa Rica is and how kind the people are, while overcoming a great physical challenge. With only 4 days left I know when we reach the end I will feel a great sense of achievement... but I also know I will miss it...

This trip sounds brilliant, you must be seeing amazing sights but perhaps you are getting used to it now? Can't wait to see the photos of the bronzed explorers.
    Lots of love,
