Alpha Yankee 6- Work Hard, Play Hard
Alpha Yankee 6 have been working very hard making the framework to the secondary school we're building. Firstly, by carrying large planks of wood through the jungle across rivers to the building site we do a lot of sawing, hammering and climbing ladders. Each day it looks more and more like school-shaped and our maestro Don Gabriel believe that we'll have it finished by the end of phase.
Of course, in Alpha Yankee 6 we play just as hard as we work. Football matches with the locals have been a daily occurrence as has swimming and washing in the beautiful river. Certain members of the group claim that they have never been so clean on Raleigh.
Our camp has been made more homely with the addition of hammocks, ashtrays and unwobbly stools. Our evening entertainment has varied from highly competitive pictionary to campfires. Teaching in the school has highlighted how much Alto Coen needs a secondary school building and has been really fun as well.
Our cook Agapeta- or Aggy P as she has been christened has been cooking up camina tipica of Costa Rica and we were delighted when Antonio brought bananas into the camp.
