Zulu 5 Update by Sarah Church and Clare Jones

A free day for Zulu 5 began with breakfast with their families before all meeting at 7.30am. The group were guided by the locals a short walk down the cobbled pathways to a spectacular river and waterfall. A total length of 13 km, the river runs from Las Brisas into Achuapa. Zulu 5 enjoyed a day of swimming, sunbathing and interacting with the locals A clear blue sky and strong heat made the scene even more beautiful.
At midday the Venturers and PMs returned to their homes to eat lunch before participating in a friendly baseball game with all the locals.
“It was fun to mix and play with the locals” says Anna and Emma thought it was a ‘unique experience playing with the locals, both old and young!’
After baseball everyone joined in with the daily football match until sunset. The group were greeted by Fieldbase Ross, Randy, Tom and the newest member of Zulu 5, Duncan. The group sadly had to say goodbye to Owen, the PM, who has been awesome in Achuapa!
The family of Serena and Clare organised a fiesta in the evening in which everyone was invited: live music, home cooked food and dancing made it a special night in Las Brisas. Zulu 5 are enjoying forming bonds with their respective families and learning about their culture.
Fun days of socialising before a very busy week of work, as the group really want to finish all the projects that have been set.

Hey Geoff. So I'm sitting here, I've been staring at the screen for 5 minutes, and I'm not too sure what to write. I'm having one of those days again, the ones I told you about. So I'll just write to let you know I'm thinking of you x

Noo noo! I hope you got my last message but not sure if it went through?!

HOW ARE YOU!? I just read about your river trek and how you spent a whole day swimming/sunbathing...jealous! You are living the life little one! In london it is cold and grey!
I hope you are having a great time, not much longer to go! It will be such a climate change for you going from CR to freezing NY!
I hope that you are still havning a great time and that you have made lots of friends? Can't wait to hear about everything!

Not much interesting to report here...work is going well but stressful. Going out most weekends with friends which is fun. Excited to have a week (woop my life is so exciting!) off for christmas. When you next have some days free you should come stay with me in London?

Today I am going to have a 2 hour make up tutorial thing from a salon in Mayfair- Richard bought it for me as a xmas present, so excited!

    Love you xxxxx BE GOOD!

  3. Floris Muller; Zulu 5.,

    Hi lieverd,

  4. Millie Pierce, Zulu 3,
    Hello Chumling,
Last weekened here before christmas and before I see you :) :)
Firstly how is the tan coming along? I hope you are very brown from all that time in the jungle - I know it has rained a lot too, so don't worry if not!!
Today was the band's christmas concert, Mum, Dad and Soph came down. The concert was really good, we played everything from marches to pirates of the caribean and christmas carols and songs. They have taken some of my sutff back home, but there is still an alarming amount for me to bring back on Thursday and Saturday (yes, I'm going back on Friday, for 1 hr of anatomy). they bought me the post card you sent us and also a letter from you just before you started this phase :) merci buckets!
Yes, we definitely need to go to dimT, I have been having cravings too, and they keep sending me emails of offers I haven't been able to use. And I will try all the weird things you have said you'll make for me...
Your trek sounds so so epic, I'm very proud of you for finishing! I don't think I would have managed, so well done!
Also the medics revue last night was really really good, as always there were some drunken medics - in the back corner heckeling, but to be honest it just added to the 'ambience'. Oh, also I won paintballing in the raffle, but I think I'll sell it to Amy who is going to give it to her brother for christmas.
It's chilly here, but no snow forecast :) My room is looking nice and christmassy, Sophie was telling me that Mrs Elliot has banned all performences in the rooom decorating this year. also - scandal, Mum and Dad haven't got tickets for the carol concert... there is serious upset chez moi.
apparently robs came home this morning - in one piece, from a weeks skiing in val thorens, but I haven't had time to catch up with him properly yet!
hope you're well, miss you millions
    not long now :) xxxxx

  6. Hi Jasper, Zulu 5,

Hoe istie?
LUM
