Today is a diurnal course predominantly focused towards tomorrow’s departure for phase one. So soon? I hear you cry. Indeed it is so. Tools are being sourced and sharpened; bags packed, emptied and repacked with solely essentials (embrace the aroma on trek) and excitement is reaching fever pitch in anticipation of tonight’s BBQ and party send off.

After the trials and tribulations of the previous twenty four hours, there was only one way to convey one’s feeling of celebration – through the medium of dance. Hosted by Host Country Coordinator, Keiner, and VM, Daniel; a master class of all things salsa followed, with the HCVs on hand to provide demonstrations, tips and pointers, and an ability to make this writer all too aware that he has as much rhythm as a lump of rubble up on Volcan Turrialba. I am by no means alone there... Uptake on the whole however was impressive, and before long Mambos, Cucarachas, Cocos and Coquittos were executed with the exuberance of Harry Judd on Strictly.
