The 'Explorers' have arrived

Today is a great day at Raleigh Fieldbase, all of our teams are on their way home, we successfully celebrated World Social Justice Day (hopefully you have seen our video click here to view if you havn't had time yet >) but today we also welcomed 14 new volunteer Venturers to Expedition 13A. They have had a big couple of days with training, trekking and learning all about Raleigh and their upcoming projects. So here they are:
Alice (PM), Stella, Chow, Izzy, Amy, Hebie, Anthony, Freddie, John, Amelia, Gabby (PM), Eva, Ella, Jess, Kate and Akalia
It's changeover so lots of updates to come of our returning Volunteers and all of their exploits.
Pura Vida!

    Hi BB
Just heard you're back at base now. I know a short blog message won't make up for the lack of a long letter (which is on its way but I doubt will arrive in time) but want you to know I'm thinking of you. Will get myself more organised for the next changeover I promise! I thought you had another week to go. Quite hopeless I know... Dying to hear what you've been up to and what you're doing next.

We've had flurries of snow in London today and a biting wind - a world away from the tropical heat you're enjoying. I'm spending the weekend hibernating at home this weekend. No late nights out like last weekend (3am would you believe?!) I fear I will have no excuse not to tidy up my flat, except that it's Book Club next week and I still haven't finished the book so I may have to curl up on the sofa with my nose in An Anthropologist From Mars all weekend. (You'd love it - lots of interesting psychology.) Oh, and I might find myself distracted by the 6 Nations rugby. England v France this weekend. That reminds me, I must tinker with my fantasy rugby team before tomorrow lunchtime. I'm mid-table in the office league at the moment and there's no way I'm going to be the loser buying the doughnuts!

    That's enough non-news for now.

    Have fun!
    Sharon

  8. Hi Jessica Adsett of Alpha 8

Good to see a picture of you and we got your letter this week. Brilliant to hear so much life and adventure in your words. It all sounds fantastic. All is well here. Matt and Mum did well in Ice Breaker last weekend. It was very tough. Mon is out in The Gambia and all is well there. Joe is with Nanny and Grandad camping in FOD and is racing on Sunday. I'm home painting and will join him for his race on Sunday.

Keep grabbing onto this fantastic experience.

    You are loved

Big hug van mam en jetski xxxxxxxxxxx
