Phase 3: the Zulus

The third and final phase is upon us and everyone has now been deployed to their respective projects.

    hi James
Great to hear all about your project in Nicaragua, it sounds like an unbelievable experience , we have loaded up on beans and rice for your return !
Great to see some new pics on the blog too , Mum thought your belt buckle looked a notch or two tighter.... Guess you heard England got crushed in the rugby , we maybe watching a Welsh 15 in Melbourne. The mighty Boro have continued their slump into mid table mediocrity. We are all well and looking forward to some better weather as always. Hope the trek is going to plan and it is as spectacular as you hope.
Speak soon , love Dad , Mum , Ben and Lexi

Just been reading the skit you wrote. Very good! Wish I could have seen it too. We have been told which group you're in but wondering what your up to. Can't wait to hear. All is well here. Alice has planned 3days of celebration for her 18th and, as you can imagine, is getting unbearably excited. Lots of snow here, hoping to play in it tomorrow.

Veel zin in!

    Dikke kus, mama

Anyway you look absolutely fab Rachel and beaming as usual. Hav done some reading up about the island you are on, quite interesting place. Hope you don't encounter any sharks or snakes.......
Enjoy the weather while you can as its still winter here, yes lots more snow but I won't b out building snowmen this time. Poor old will is not impressed. Hope you are enjoying this final project and that you do get to be involved with some turtles.

We are now on countdown for when we will see you.... Take care sweetheart, and see you soon, yeah! Lots of love mum xxxxxxxxxx

Hello darling - it was great to hear from you last weekend and catch up with your adventures! Glad to hear you're surviving so well and making the most of this time! Enjoy the heat! we have a foot of snow - again! - in fact more than we've had all winter and it looks set to stay a day or two - cold and picturesque - as long as you're not stuck in it! We were lucky with our weekend in Hereford last weekend - wouldn't have got there this weekend! Dad managed to get to his meeting in Warwick yesterday - not sure how easy it will be getting back today...some of it at this end will definitely be on foot! We had a really nice evening with the Fields! the menu was as you and I planned and went down well - and I managed to get the meal on the table promptly!!!. Guy and David are coming next weekend for Easter and then the following weekend we meet with the Dixons (dentist) and then you're home!!! Can't believe how quickly the time has flown! John and isle are well and will probably be in England in April and will try and see us then - John's next scan is due around then so may complicate things - hope not! We have arranged to meet up with J&B and A&R and families when we get back from our main holiday in June - just ovrnight - should be fun!
Gone on long enough - missing you but soooo proud of you and we all send lots of hugs and kisses

    Hi BB
Rosemary and Sharon here. Eating croissants hot from the oven. Hope that doesn't make your jealous. If it makes you feel any better, I ate refried beans for dinner the other night and thought of you. Solidarity! Confession. This is attempt 2 at a blog message. We started one about half an hour ago and then we had a Psycho moment when David accidentally let the mad cat (Smudge)- out. Or at least that's what Rosemary accused him of. In fact she was curled up in her shopping basket but the recriminations will go on for a very long time as Rosemary was out in the snow running around after Smudge, who still isn't allowed out of the house (but will be very soon, just not today!) Yes,we have snow in Kent today. Thought the SE corner would escape the current bout of weather but no such luck. When we came back to the PC I accidentally lost the Raleigh webpage so half composed blog was lost. Rosemary did send you one the other day, she says, but doesn't know whether you got it. That's why we're doing one together today to make sure it arrives (provided I don't lose this one too). We love your green war paint in the photo. Dying to hear what you're up to next. The website hasn't updated us yet. Assume you're on trek somewhere and hope you're having a fantastic time. Rosemary's going to take over now. (Spot the difference in the typing!)
shes such a clever clogs. never mind the food and the real reason of being able to feed her face why i now type. hows the tan coming along? pictures look fab. i keep thinking of you and hope you are enjoying it all, even the bits that are a bit of a challenge. it all looks and sounds fantastic..well maybe beans etc aside!
Shazza back at the keyboard! Can't see what I'm typing at the moment because Rosemary is cleaning my specs for me (I got croissant grease all over them)so it could get as bad as hers! thought that counts bella!(Guess which rogue typist hijacked the keyboard there.) Well, BB , I think this is enough of our drivel for now. As you can tell, we don't actually have any interesting news for you. I'm off along the road shortly to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend. I came down last night (Friday) to catch up with R,D&G first. Roly poly sends you a big wet slobber (currently curled up on his bed giving us the "you're ignoring me" look). All for now. More anon. Thinking of you lots. Big hugs from Rosemary and Sharon.xx

Hi darling! You look really cool in the latest pic and I love your specs! I'm just back from Warwick and the whole country (well, the bits I saw anyway) is covered in the white stuff. Perhaps the Easter bunny will have to wear skis this year? Dave Hirst is coming to talk about Ambleside electrics shortly (such fun, eh?) and Charlie's been getting on well. They are all very snug up there and apparently reading novels in the evening...with all the pubs in the area, I don't believe a word. I'm in London for a couple of days next week and Guy is home for Easter on Thursday. Did I tell you I've got some new boots? Haven't worn them outdoors yet, but they provide great grip for getting up and down the stairs. Only joking--they are the biz....looking fwd very much to trekking in them with you very soon! All our love and miss you loads, Dad xxxxx

  21. For Wisha, Zulu 6. Great to see your group photo and I hope the project is going well. I know it is environmental but that's about all. The blog seems to have had a few quiet days - we all need those from time to time! V cold here though East Lothian has avoided most of the snow so far - the Dicksons are getting it bad down in Dumfries and Galloway. We are looking fwd to skiing - Angus headed to Croatia for his Uni "hockey" tour today. Wonder how many matches they will play this time! We are all well, the days are getting longer and we just yearn for some of the heat you are enjoying. Lots of love, M&D
