Romeo round-up: Our last 10F update

It feels like only yesterday that our 10F Venturers and PMs were deploying with their Alpha groups to their Phase 1 projects. Ten weeks have literally flown by and now they're preparing to return to Fieldbase one last time for their final washup before heading home.

Our Romeo groups have all had an amazing final phase and as we await their return, here's one final update of what they've been doing for the last few days:

Romeo 1 (Maribios Trek) completed their epic journey with a night at the top of Volcan Cosiguina in far north-west Nicaragua and a spectacular sunrise before walking down to their Pacific finish line in Mechapa. They spent yesterday relaxing on the beach and today started the long journey back to Fieldbase.

Romeo 2 (Guanacaste Trek) are enjoying their last day together on the beautiful beach at Junquillal after completing their trek with a 33km stretch from Maritza. The highlight of their last week was summiting a volcano, Rincon de la Vieja, where they enjoyed stunning views of northern Costa Rica.

Romeo 3 (Camaronal) have helped build a path down to the beach and completed their last beach patrol. They spent today taking down their jungle camp in anticipation of their departure early tomorrow morning.

Romeo 4 (San Lucas Island) have wrapped up their path building project and completed a wildlife lookout station. They've also been busy with a series of games and challenges including a scavenger hunt and a day of Beach Olympics.

Romeo 5 (El Coyolito) put in a huge final effort to get their community centre as close to finished as humanly possible. Yesterday they finished painting the walls and had a party to celebrate the end of phase. Last week they had a great time cooking a feast for their local community. Tonight they are with Romeos 1 and 6 at the school in Jinotepe before crossing the border and heading back to Fieldbase tomorrow.

Romeo 6 (Rio Arriba) finished up work on their water project in Rio Arriba a few days ago and had time to start work on another one in the nearby village of La Guaruma where they capped the fresh water source and made preparations for a future project team.

And here are some photos from our recent Fieldbase visits to Romeos 1, 4 and 5:
