Zulu 2 reach the Pacific coast!

There were smiles all around today as Zulu 2 finally reached their destination after 19 days of tough trekking. They have overcome all of the obstacles that the trek threw at them, including blisters, heavy packs and of course the Costa Rican rain. They have crossed an entire country, climbed mountains and walked through jungles and are now enjoying a couple of well-earned days rest on the beautiful Pacific coast before joining us and the rest of the Zulu groups at field base.

Zulu 3 complete the trail

By Ashley Riby

Well the Christmas month is upon us and while everyone else is wet and cold in England and Holland, Zulu 3 are spending their spare time sunbathing in the Costa Rican sun. We are happy to anounce that the work on the trail to Cabo Blanco beach is now complete. Everyone has worked so hard over the past few weeks and although we are both mentally and physically drained, we are still enjoying every moment and making the most of our time here. We have now seen even more wildlife, including a massive 5 foot snake! We have also seen the departure of Ray Ray, who has been replaced by the wonderful Becca. With the end of Raleigh in sight we are starting to reflect on how our lives have changed over the past 3 months, and also how much we are looking forward to seeing our friends and families. Well, that's all from Zulu 3 at Cabo Blanco. Lots of love to everyone!

Zulu 4 Beach Olympics

Zulu 4 are still having a fantastic time in Camaronal. They have put the handrails and the other finishing touches onto their bridge and the turtle patrols continue to go well. Yesterday the team even got to see some baby turtles hatching and helped to release them into the sea. Yesterday also saw the Zulu 4 beach olympics, with events such as welly throwing, wrestling, long jump and the 50 metre sprint. The prize for the lucky winner- a tasty bag of Diana sweets.
