Alpha 1 on turtle patrol in Playa Hermosa

Alpha 1 are all having a great time and have been working very hard in Playa Hermosa. They get up at 6am to clear land and plant trees until lunchtime. Then it is too hot to work so its time for a rest and a swim in the sea. During the night they do two turtle patrols, one is 2k and the other 6k. During the patrol they watch turtles dig nests and lay their eggs. They collect the eggs and take them back to the hatchery. Everyday they check the hatchery for baby turtles and release any found onto the beach.

    Picture this
Dad & I plus Pete & Claire on a park bench in Princes St Gardens, within sight of the orchestra, right beside loud speaker, cracking view up to the Castle, clear night, no rain and over 100,000 fireworks to light up the sky for Zadok the Priest and Hallelujah Chorus. Fantastic Festival Finale.

  11. Hi Oli
Playa Hermosa looks fabulous - planting trees and monitoring turtles along all that wonderful unspoilt coastline - what a fantastic way to complete a great expedition. Well done! Guess we're just a bit jealous (actually a lot!)and so looking forward to hearing all about it from you.
Got your SOS. Check with Oli Husemeyer if any problems re bank transfer.
Have a good/safe journey home - hopefully without any flight delays this time! Can't wait to see you at Heathrow on Saturday at 06.45hours (but will monitor airline website in case of any alterations in ETA). I'll be there to meet you as Dad is playing at Chris Smith's lunctime wedding and Nick is working. Sarah & Ben, plus Tom, Tor and Chloe all plan to be here on your return so you can't be too jet lagged! Josh just phoned to check when you return. Loads of love Mum, Dad & Nick xxx
